Course Sustainability Sourcing of Oils and Fats With the participation of HAS University

This one day course (17 September 2019) explains the sustainable sourcing of oils and fats. The course will give you insights into the complexity of different supply chains. It brings you up to speed with aspects such as traceability, certification and issue management. Additionally, relevant topics will be addressed concerning the multinational issues related to sustainable production of raw materials.

Learnings
At the end of the course day, you will have an overview of the current relevant multinational dialogues and their importance. You will be able to take that dialogue further within the supply chain. This will give you more insight into the implications of current developments related to the sustainability of oils and fats for your daily business. Furthermore you will be able to integrate the learnings into your own work and communications.

Course leader and keynote speakers
• Eddy Esselink, course leader, works at MVO and is responsible for the Sustainable Sourcing and Development Programme.
• Judith Murdoch, from Murdoch Associates in London, specialises in corporate social responsibility and sustainability and is experienced in the field of oils and fats.
• Marnix Wolters, lecturer in Sustainability from HAS University.
• A well-known NGO will be present to share and discuss opinions.

Participants
The course is open to all employees from companies in the oils and fats industry and related companies in the fields of food, feed, technology and energy. Participants may be CSR managers as well as starting or experienced employees in other fields such as sales, marketing, product development and processing, wishing to learn more about sustainable development. Furthermore the course will be interesting for employees from certification bodies, sector associations, consultancy organisations or (non-) governmental organisations.

Level
The course is at BSc level; basic knowledge is required. Participants who are not familiar with the basics of the oils and fats supply chain are recommended to first attend the MVO Academy Course Basics of Oils and Fats. The language of the course will be English. Participants will receive a certificate on successfully completing the course.

Fee and Registration
The course fee is € 425 (ex VAT) for MVO member companies and € 595 (ex VAT) for non-MVO member companies. The fee covers lectures, course materials, certificate, drinks, lunch and snacks.
