Directive 1991/321/EC sets strict rules for pesticides in baby food. Certain pesticides may not be used during the production of infant formulae and follow-on formulae (See Annex IX on p. 26).

Other pesticides may not be present in infant formulae and follow-on formulae above the limit of 0,01 mg/kg. For a number of pesticides a lower limit has been set (See Annex X on p. 27).
