The Code for Good Governance for product and company boards has been signed by all boards of governance of the concerned product and company boards in March 2007.
De code has entered into force on 1 July 2007. There will be a formal stock-taking of the measures which have been taken, followed by an evaluation. In this manner adjustments and supplements can be introduced based upon the experiences with the code and new insights in the domain of public governance. The SER has advised the minister to legally anchor some parts of the Code by adjusting the Sector organization law.
In 2007 the Product Board MVO has inserted and elaborated the code which meant that at the end of 2007 most parts of the code were already implemented. Insertion and implementation were carried out in close cooperation with the other product boards and with the SER Working Group Implementation Code for Good Governance.
The separate principles and the practical insertion of these are explained.
The execution and the living up to the code is a responsibility of the board of governance. The executive board has ordered KPMG Accountants to check upon the organization's functioning in respect to the code and to present its findings on this subject.
