On the basis of the General Food Law, all food and feed producing companies are obliged to deliver food and feed that are safe to humans and animals.
To accomplish this, companies are to apply hygiene provisions in the area of facilities and equipment, personnel, production, quality control, storage and transport and record keeping and they are obliged to set up a risk analysis. This risk analysis has to be based HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles. This is a system that enables companies to control the possible hazards important for food and feed safety.
The product board MVO has been the leading force in the setting up of sectoral risk analysis for both the animal and vegetable oil production chains.
