Frying fats and oils take up a special place in the product group of oils and fats because generally, most of them are not consumed. This means that after a span of time, when they are no longer suitable to use for frying snacks and other products, they must be replaced by new products. The ‘used frying oils and fats’ are collected and purified, and afterwards can get a second life as a raw material for biodiesel or for direct energy production.
Under this heading you may find information (in Dutch) about this ‘second life’ phase, about companies which are active in this part of the oils and fats chain, about the final products for which purified used frying oils and fats are used as a raw material, and about the rules that apply in the different stadia of this second life.
