Sustainable development is an important priority for MVO.  In close cooperation with our companies we actively work on national and international level towards a more sustainable oils and fats sector. Our main focus is the mainstream market. MVO strives for support from all relevant stakeholders in the entire production chain and aims at a tuning with existing standards and initiatives (amongst which the round tables) and consistency with WTO agreements.

MVO discerns two tracks in its activities: sustainable sourcing and sustainable company management.

Furthermore, we stimulate sustainable and bio-based innovations, monitor developments concerning renewable bio-fuels and invest in the employees working in our sector.

Sustainable development can be found in all its aspects on a constantly expanding range.

MVO companies have different ways in moving towards sustainable development. The product board has collected several best practices in a booklet (in Dutch) and has given MVO companies the opportunity top express themselves on their activities in sustainability. They tell about the meaning of sustainable development and how they practice sustainability in day-to-day business.

Sustainable development remains a process of striving for improvement. We believe, together with the companies in our sector, that close cooperation with chain partners, governmental and societal organizations is very important.
