PERSBERICHT

Productschap MVO pleit voor afschaffing EU-invoerrecht voor duurzame palmolie
Het Productschap Margarine, Vetten en Oliën pleit, namens de Nederlandse oliën- en vettenindustrie, in een brief aan Minister Verhagen van het Ministerie van EL&I voor een versnelde afschaffing van het EU-invoerrecht voor duurzame palmolie. Duurzame palmolie die gecertificeerd is volgens de richtlijnen van de Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is palmolie waarbij zowel bij de teelt als bij de handel rekening wordt gehouden met mens, dier en milieu. Een afschaffing van het invoerrecht zal de omschakeling versnellen van conventionele palmolie naar duurzame palmolie.

MVO approach/RTRS

MVO considers the Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS) as the way to create a more responsible soy production.

MVO is a member of the RTRS and supports this organisation through participation in different working groups and communication activities. MVO participated among other things in the RTRS Criteria Development Working Group.

MVO runs the secretariat of the Dutch Task Force Sustainable Soy, a platform of Dutch companies with the aim to support the RTRS. For more information on the platform see: www.taskforceduurzamesoja.nl
