Productschap MVO pleit voor afschaffing EU-invoerrecht voor duurzame palmolie
Het Productschap Margarine, Vetten en Oliën pleit, namens de Nederlandse oliën- en vettenindustrie, in een brief aan Minister Verhagen van het Ministerie van EL&I voor een versnelde afschaffing van het EU-invoerrecht voor duurzame palmolie. Duurzame palmolie die gecertificeerd is volgens de richtlijnen van de Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is palmolie waarbij zowel bij de teelt als bij de handel rekening wordt gehouden met mens, dier en milieu. Een afschaffing van het invoerrecht zal de omschakeling versnellen van conventionele palmolie naar duurzame palmolie.

RTRS invites participants for RTRS International Technical VERIFICATION Group
The Round Table Responsible Soy (RTRS) invites nominations for participation in the new International Technical VERIFICATION Group (ITVG).

The objectives of the ITVG are to :

  • review the RTRS documents on certification, group certification and accreditation
  • make changes where necessary
  • recommend their approval to the RTRS Executive Board.

In May 2009 the RTRS has adopted the Principles and Criteria for Field Testing. Since then the RTRS has worked on the development of a certification system including a group certification scheme and an accreditation system.

The work of the group will run from mid February to April 2010. The working language will be English. The closing date for receipt of applications for participation in the RTRS ITVG is 17 February 2010.
