 Training and education

Training and education not only lead to better qualified employees, which is favorable to company production, but also to improved employability for the employee himself or herself, which is beneficial to work motivation and pleasure and in the long run to the employee's chances on the labor market. Of course, employees often receive most of their training on the job, provided by their own company through internal educational programs.

The Product Board MVO does the utmost to achieve a wide and good quality range of training and education for every employee in the oils and fats industry.

For example, in October 2008 the
MVO Knowledge Centre was officially launched. Users of this online education and information service (all in Dutch) will find a wide range of elementary information about the oils and fats production and distribution chain.
The idea for this knowledge centre was picked up as a result of
MVO research into the needs for education and training in the oils and fats sector.

Furthermore, MVO organizes each year a
seminar about an interesting policy item specifically for union representatives in MVO companies. Members of employee councils and other interested employees are usually invited to join these seminars.

The Labor Division offers so-called
EVC procedures, which allow employees to receive, under strict conditions, school certificates as an official assessment of the competences which they have acquired through their working experience.
